BRAVO as a youth lifestyle medium

For many decades, BRAVO played a pioneering role in sex education and youth development in Germany. As one of the first and best-known youth magazines, it regularly focused on topics such as body awareness, healthy sexuality, relationships, and personal development. Especially from the 1960s to the 1990s, the magazine was a central medium that provided guidance and education on intimate topics to young people during a time of social upheaval.

With a blend of serious, scientifically sound content and an accessible, youth-friendly approach, BRAVO helped many generations of young people grapple with questions of physical development and sexual identity. The magazine always emphasized independent, responsible reporting and treated sexuality not as a taboo, but as a natural part of growing up.

Contemporary Historical Documents

Please consider the historical context when reading the issues! Some formulations, views, texts, and reports may be outdated from today's perspective, but we have decided not to comment on or alter the issues retroactively in any way, but to leave them in their original form, as the issues represent important contemporary historical documents for us. As a cross-generational companion for young people, BRAVO offers an interesting insight into cultural development. This is precisely why it is important to pay attention to the historical and social context when reading.

What does DVD-R mean?

A DVD-R for complete years contains all issues of a specific year of a magazine as digital files on a DVD. You can open and enjoy the issues directly from the DVD on your computer or another device. The DVD-R is NOT suitable for DVD players! This physical collection is particularly suitable for collectors and users who want to have their favorite years conveniently on a physical medium without relying on downloads.

Each PDF is high-quality digitized and corresponds to the original format, so you can experience the BRAVO exactly as it appeared at the time.
