Contemporary Historical Documents

Please consider the historical context when reading these editions! Some formulations, views, texts, and reports may be outdated from today's perspective. However, we have decided not to comment on the editions retrospectively or alter them in any way, but to leave them in their original form, as we consider them important documents of contemporary history. As a cross-generational companion for young people, POPFOTO an interesting insight into cultural development. This is precisely why it's important to pay attention to the historical and social context when reading.

What does DVD-R mean?

A DVD-R for complete years contains all issues of a specific year of a magazine as digital files on one DVD. You can open and enjoy the issues directly from the DVD on your computer or other device. The DVD-R is NOT suitable for DVD players! This physical collection is especially suitable for collectors and users who want to conveniently have their favorite years on a physical medium without having to rely on downloads.

Each PDF is digitized to a high standard and corresponds to the original format, so you can experience the POPFOTO exactly as it was published back then.

Zeitreise

Das Jahr 1969

1969 was the year that changed the musical landscape forever and saw the hippie movement reach its peak. The legendary Woodstock festival celebrated an epic gathering of music, freedom, and love, with Jimi Hendrix, The Who, and Janis Joplin dominating the stage. The Beatles released one of their most masterful albums with "Abbey Road," while The Rolling Stones further refined their sound with "Let It Bleed." In pop music, psychedelic rock was at its peak, and David Bowie emerged from obscurity with his Ziggy Stardust phase. 1969 was also the year "Easy Rider" hit the big screen and the Apollo 11 moon landing success changed the world. A watershed year that shaped music, society, and pop culture forever.
