Collection: POPFOTO

The first issue of the Dutch poster magazine Popfoto appeared in 1966. Its predecessor, Tuney Tuney, had been very popular since the 1940s. From an editorial perspective, Popfoto offered a lot, but - as the name suggests - the magazine mainly consisted of posters of the currently popular pop stars, bands and artists. But it was not for nothing that Popfoto lasted until the end of the '70s. The posters? Wonderful and always up to date, of great quality and always in abundance. From mid-1968, Popfoto also appeared in a German version. In 1969, Popfoto then took over the Dutch music magazine Teenbeat. In 1980, Popfoto then joined forces with Pop . A few issues later, the popular Rocky magazine followed, which ultimately became Pop Rocky. Here, too, the influence of Popfoto was still clearly felt.
