Diversity is the dominant moment of the 1980s. Everything happens simultaneously, alongside, above, against and with each other. New Wave, post-punk, NDW, Austropop, classic rock, metal with variations from speed to death, hip-hop and contemporary R&B, electro-pop with countless sub-styles. The circle of superstars who shaped the decade included Michael Jackson, Prince, Phil Collins, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Peter Gabriel, George Michael and Whitney Houston. But Culture Club, Kajagoogoo, OMD, New Order, Eurythmics, Soft Cell, Ultravox, Visage and many others also immortalized themselves in the book of the 80s. With a few exceptions, all of this also appears in the BRAVO charts - as always with a German specialty called Schlager. The decade begins with the murder of John Lennon, the death of Bob Marley from cancer and Jackson's blockbuster album "Thriller".
