That's how we started.
Our beginnings
The archive was founded in 2000 and grew out of a passion for pop culture and an extensive collection of historical BRAVO issues . What began as a private collection project has evolved over time into a unique digital documentation of German youth and pop history.
Our mission.
Public access
With the advent of the internet, we decided to make key components of our archive accessible to a wider public —especially those who grew up in the former GDR and for whom access to Western pop culture was long difficult. We published covers, celebrity cutouts, autograph cards, jukeboxes, educational series, novels, and much more—all of which made BRAVO one of Europe's most important youth magazines.

Our contribution
Collaboration with BRAVO
During the preparations for BRAVO's 50th anniversary in 2006, the publisher became aware of our online presence. At the request of the publishing management at the time , we supported the anniversary project with over 20,000 digital copies, developed content, co-authored a more than 700-page book, and contributed ideas for special issues, CDs, quizzes, and other anniversary products.

Legitimation of our work
Through this collaboration, we met many of the personalities who have shaped BRAVO over the decades —including Alex Gernandt, Wolfgang Heilemann, Wilma Schönhoff, and Didi Zill . Their encouragement to further expand our archive was both an incentive and an obligation. Today, the BRAVO archive contains over 250,000 digitized pieces of content —made accessible through over 100 products and nearly 20 books. Our goal remains to bring the fascinating history of pop culture to life for interested audiences of all generations.
