BRAVO Starschnitt Cult: Winnetou, Old Shatterhand and Nscho-tschi at a glance
The stars of the Winnetou films have been featured in a total of five BRAVO star cutouts . It started with lead actor Pierre Brice , who was delivered to readers in 27 parts, including a silver rifle, from issue 12 of 1964 to issue 34 of 1964. Chief Winnetou stood proudly on a rock, gazing pensively into the distance over his Mescalero-Apache land.
Two issues later, Old Shatterhand Lex Barker launched, his left fist on his hip, his right hand firmly gripping his Henry rifle—which could fire 25 times without reloading. With his index finger on the trigger, he was always ready to defend himself and his friends. Thanks to his rifle, the barrel of which alone required three pieces, Old Shatterhand had completed 30 pieces by issue 10 in 1965.
Issues 28 to 43 from 1965 featured 18 installments of Winnetou's sister, Nscho-tschi , portrayed by the French actress Marie Versini . Unfortunately, her face was a bit too dark, and her visible right hand was a bit too reddish. On the other hand, her fringed costume shone in its original colors.
The 20th BRAVO star cut was already the fourth to focus on the subject of Winnetou . In 18 installments, Piere Brice and Marie Versini, as Winnetou and Nscho-tschi, were placed together in portions on the wall. This time, the costume colors were also just right. While the patterned stripes on Winnetou's clothing had been recolored red and black in the first edition, they now shone in the original colors of red, blue, and yellow on a white background. What was missing this time was the silver rifle. Instead, the Bowie knife, which hung richly decorated from his belt, was clearly visible. Nscho-tschi sat next to him, one leg stretched out in front of him; both hands – almost seeking protection – wrapped around Winnetou 's right leg.
Winnetou fans had to wait until 1977 before Pierre Brice was delivered piecemeal to their homes for the third time. The occasion was the Karl May Festival in Elspe, Sauerland , where the charming Frenchman embodied Winnetou himself. Physically somewhat plump and evidently showing his age, he still held his silver rifle tightly in both hands during the 60th BRAVO star cutout .
