When did the magazine musik parade appear?
The first issue of the youth magazine " musik parade " was published in July 1962 by August A. Jansen Verlag , Hamburg. It was initially published bimonthly. In 1963 and 1964, " musik parade " was published monthly; from March 1, 1965, it was published bi-weekly.
The "original" had already launched in the Netherlands in June 1957 with great success. Although the first two issues were still called "Music Flash," the third issue was renamed "muziek parade." In 1962, the Dutch publisher Guus Jansen Jr.—who also edited the German offshoot—transferred the magazine to Germany.
The great success of «muziek parade» was also due to the fact that between 1960 and 1964, Guus Jansen Jr. presented the «Teenager Muziek Parade» every Sunday between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on the Dutch program of Radio Luxembourg.
According to its own perception, " Musik Parade " was "the music magazine with the fastest circulation growth in Europe!" Nevertheless, the last issue of the youth and music magazine appeared on May 22, 1967, after 89 issues. " Musik Parade " was integrated into BRAVO (then Kindler & Schiermeyer Verlag , Munich) after Heinrich Bauer Verlag assumed responsibility for " Musik Parade " in September 1965.
" Musik Parade " primarily focused on popular music. TV, film, and sports stars, popular among young people at the time, were only occasionally featured. From the very beginning, the magazine offered its readers its own charts, as well as several song lyrics of current German and international Schlager and Beat music in each issue. Equally reader-friendly was a double-page center poster, initially in black and white, but from mid-1964 onwards in full color. It's also worth mentioning that, despite its expanded scope and increased color content, " Musik Parade " maintained the price of a single issue at 1 Deutsche Mark from 1962 to 1967.
